Developed by Krauss-Maffei in the 1970s, the Leopard 2 is a 3rd generation German main battle tank (MBT). Its impressive performance has made it a popular choice among the armed forces of not only Germany but also 13 other European countries, as well as several non-European states around the world. The Leopard 2A6 is an upgraded version of the Leopard 2 tank which was first introduced in the late 1990s. It features a number of improvements over its predecessor, including better armour protection, increased firepower, and improved mobility.
This 1:33 scale model faithfully recreates the Leopard’s unique features, including its sharply angled turret, sloped armour, and robust side skirts. Advanced LEGO techniques have been used to precisely capture the complex angles and slopes around the turret and front armour of the chassis, reflecting the tank’s distinctive and modern design.
Inside, the model captures the tank’s sophisticated interior, featuring driver seats, a turret basket, ammunition shells, and an engine compartment with the MTU MB 873 Ka-501 engine, mirroring the heart of the real Leopard 2A6. The working suspension adds realistic movement, allowing the tank to roll over obstacles. With an open-up design, you can easily access and explore the interior, making it perfect for display or play.
